OPUS Ensemble - OPUS musicians are beginning a year-long
programme of work to explore group creativity through music-making.
Working alongside internationally acclaimed creative musicians
Paul Griffiths and
John Tams,
OPUS musicians will explore the creative processes of music-making,
before continuing this research alongside students from four
secondary schools in Derby. A final showcase of this work will
take place in July 2009, from which point in time young people from
across Derby will be involved in the planning and delivery of much
of OPUS' creative music-making work across the region.
OPUS is grateful for the support of Derby City Council, Derby City
Partnership, Creative
Partnerships Derby, Arts Council England and East Midlands Airport
in this project.
Story, Rhythm and Rhyme - the
next phase of the Early Years music-making programme of work
involving OPUS musicians as workshop leaders and trainers of
Derbyshire librarians and musicians from sinfonia ViVA is currently
being planned. It is anticipated that this programme will
begin in January 2009.
